Wheel Alignment in Burnaby, BC

Pulling to one side? Steering wheel off centre? New tires wearing on one edge already? An alignment is a simple way to make an expensive set of tires last, and we measure it before we charge you for it.

Wheel Alignment in Burnaby

Tell us what you need and your Hastings team follows up to confirm timing and pricing.

Know the signs

Your tires will tell you first.

Alignment problems show up as wear long before they show up as handling. By the time you feel it, you have usually paid for it in rubber.

Pulling left or right

You have to hold pressure on the wheel to drive straight on a level road. That is the clearest signal there is.

Off-centre steering wheel

You are driving straight but the wheel sits crooked. It looks harmless, but it's a sign the geometry is out.

Uneven tire wear

One edge of the tread worn smooth while the rest looks new. This is the expensive symptom, and it does not reverse.

Vibration through the wheel

Often balance rather than alignment, but the two get diagnosed together because the fix depends on which it is.

After a pothole or a curb

One solid hit is enough. Burnaby winters and spring road heave do this to a lot of vehicles every year.

With any new set of tires

New tires on a vehicle that is out of alignment start wearing wrong immediately. Check it before the new set starts wearing.

What the job involves

Measured, adjusted, and shown to you.

An alignment is three angles per corner. We print what they were and what they became, so you can see you got something for the money.

Camber

The inward or outward tilt of the wheel. Out of spec, it wears one shoulder of the tire flat and leaves the rest untouched.

Toe

Whether the wheels point slightly together or apart. The angle that scrubs tread off fastest when it is wrong.

Caster

The steering axis angle. It governs straight-line stability and whether the wheel returns to centre on its own after a turn.

A suspension check first

Worn tie rods or ball joints cannot hold an alignment. We look before we adjust, because aligning a loose front end is selling you nothing.

A before-and-after printout

Every reading, against the manufacturer's spec for your vehicle. Yours to keep.

A road test

Numbers on a page are not the same as a car that tracks straight. We drive it to confirm.

The M.A.P. promise

If it is in spec, we tell you it is in spec.

Alignment is easy to sell to someone who does not need one. We are an authorized Motorist Assurance Program service centre, so the measurement decides, not the sales target.

If your readings come back within tolerance, you pay for the check and drive away. That happens, and we would rather you trusted the next answer.

Alignment questions, answered

The things Burnaby drivers ask us.

Straight answers. If yours is not here, call the shop and ask.

How often should I get an alignment?

Once a year is a sensible rhythm for most drivers, plus any time you fit new tires or hit something hard enough to remember.

How long does it take?

Most vehicles are about an hour. If we find worn steering or suspension parts, we stop and talk to you before going further.

Do I need a two-wheel or four-wheel alignment?

It depends on your suspension design. Most modern vehicles get four-wheel. We will tell you which yours takes and why.

Will an alignment fix my vibration?

Usually not on its own - vibration is more often wheel balance or a bent rim. The inspection tells us which one you actually have.

Can you align a lifted or lowered truck?

Yes, and it matters more on modified suspension, not less. Bring it in and we will work to the corrected spec.

Is alignment covered when I buy tires here?

Ask us when you book. We will be straight with you about what is included in the tire package and what is not.
